00 per hour depending on experience Position Purpose: The Yard Driver is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Primary Responsibilities:. Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Completes all required documentation Performs other related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:. Reliable & Dependable. Able to multi-taskRequired Qualifications. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
Valid Class A CDL License. 6 + months of Yard Hosteler or CMV driving experience Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable). Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
Pass post offer drug screening and criminal background check. Pass Road test. Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location Preferred Qualifications 1+ years Foodservice distribution industry experience Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (ie, PeopleNet).
