Our dedicated logistics company is looking for a Terminal Manager to work in our Bloomington, IL terminal. This position oversees more than 10 routes. Class C License is required.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8 pm - 4 am (May Vary)
Pay: Starting Salary $65,000 Per Year

Job Description:

The Terminal Manager is responsible for the management of the transportation arm of the Bloomington, IL operation. The Terminal Manager works in alliance with the transportation team: AM and PM Dispatchers, Dock Lead, Drivers and the Equipment Manager to ensure all staffing and equipment needs are adequate and maintained.

The Terminal Manager along with the recruiter is always seeking to maintain sufficient staffing levels in terms of drivers and staff. In addition, the Terminal Manager is responsible for ensuring all drivers are scheduled and coordinated in correct roles each day and communicated with in a timely manner regarding any changes. The Terminal Manager, in coordination with the Equipment Manager, ensures all truck and equipment maintenance is scheduled and completed in a timely manner and within compliance.

Essential Daily Duties and Responsibilities:

Receives daily and nightly updates from Dispatcher and Dock Lead.
Available for calls with the Senior Operations Manager and Corporate staff and attends scheduled calls as needed.
Receives issues, and documents each issue presented verbally or via e-mail; immediately communicates a plan of action to resolve each to his/her supervisor; and provides an hourly update for all major issues, and one final update for minor issues until each issue is resolved.
Works with the Dispatcher, Equipment Manager and Dock Lead to identify and determine staffing or equipment needs.
Identifies any issues or gaps that would prohibit the ability to meet expectations and communicates the reason(s) immediately to the Senior Operations Manager.
Assists the AM Dispatcher, and Dock Lead with any staffing needs, above or beyond, such as working with another staffing agency or carrier to provide staffing or equipment.
Completes immediate communication, training; and/or provides backup staff, and communicates the resolution and/or plan until a resolution is confirmed.
Ensures the tracking of metrics by the AM Dispatcher on the LQM Board (People: attendance and arrival times; Safety: accidents and equipment; Quality: scanning percentage and recycles; and Responsiveness: OTD; and Cost: damaged equipment and re-deliveries; and Layered Audits) and assists in process.
Ensure the Driver Lineup/Contingency Plans are in place prior to departure by the AM Dispatcher, and Dock Lead.
Ensures the equipment needs are in place prior to departure by Dispatcher, and Dock Lead.
Works with the AM Dispatcher to provide a detailed daily recap to Driver Leads to utilize at night.
Responsibility on all issues to ensure all are documented, resolved and all action plans and resolutions are communicated to his/her supervisor(s).
Monitor payroll.
Additionally:

Trains and motivates staff.
Responsible for driver's schedules and policy changes adjusts schedule times according to need.
Plans, organizes and manages the work of staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
Manages workflow.
Manages equipment, route and/or process changes, communicates and ensures consensus with team.
Maintains adequate staffing and equipment levels to support operation
Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedure on staffing processes.
Keep track of all electronic logs.
Responsible for staying current on transportation regulations.
Ensure staff complies with the company rules, safety procedures, and government regulations.
Investigates vehicle and staffing accidents to determine causes, and to improve safety procedures.
Monitors and controls transportation costs.
Report any major issues to supervisor immediately.
Completes special projects and works with other team members within and outside of the office.
Serves as the backup to all applicable transportation positions.
Drives the company's commitment to consistently meeting and exceeding the highest quality and service standards.
Performs other duties as required.
